Every year more and more people use tarot decks for study, meditation, divination or self discovery, but there are still many common myths, misunderstandings, and simple untruths surrounding Tarot cards. Here are some of the more persistent myths about the Tarot that seem to still be around. Notice though, that myths are not necessarily falsehoods. Myths can be symbolic allegories that seek to simplify or explain the human experience.

Margaret Ruth answers a Reader’s interesting question about a palm full of lines. Hi Margaret, I have a gazillion lines in my palm. Lots of boxes. Loops. You name it! A complex mix of lines, circles, squares, connections, energies running thru it. Do tell ... what does an extraordinary amount of lines mean??? The first thing I say to someone who has a hand full of lines is “Stop the Anxiety!” Worry and anxiety show up in palms as littler, finer lines than the major lines and these a worry lines can create many grid patterns and cross patterns.

Some authors state that they view the lines as energy power lines or as rivers as a way of understanding how clear and strong a line is. Life line People get concerned about the life line because there is a notion that a short life line means a short life. But most palmists see the life line as an indicator of vitality, zest and well-being.
