I am contemplating getting a psychic reading versus marital counseling versus personal counseling. I lean toward a reading just because it might be helpful for the whats and the hows for moving ahead. Any thoughts you may have would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks for all you do. –
If I am reading this correctly, you are asking a pretty important question. I'm going to write out a brief answer and then I hope it is ok if I post the answer/question for others since it is a rather crucial issue in some ways.
I think your question is: Given a small amount of time or money or energy, which type of information would help you best? In my opinion, personal counseling is best if someone needs psychological help to get healthier. This might include people who have self-destructive tendencies or terrible anxieties and fears. It could include people who are emotionally, physically or mentally unstable. Marriage counseling is helpful when the people involved need to gain new tools to have healthier relationships. Marriage counselors can give insights to problem patterns and often have ideas on ways to change habitual behaviors.
Psychic readings are really good when thinking about a person's larger picture. It allows you to get a bigger view of your life now, before and still to come. It seems to work best for people who are fairly emotionally and mentally stable already. It seems to work best when someone questions what is blocking her from getting what she wants. It works well when generating some larger insights of what is happening – past, present and, in my readings, possible futures.
And my readings in particular seem to work best for fairly healthy, complex people. I read all the dialogs going on inside a person (and there is usually quite a chorus), which can be enlightening, and people who like my readings are usually those who are willing to entertain the notion of their own multidimensionality and complexity.
In sum, I think then that a psychological professional should often be the first choice of emotionally or mentally troubled folks. But, for those who are trying to reach in a bit deeper and a bit farther, I recommend my readings (of course).
