“Dear MR; I just wanted to thank you for an interesting reading. You exceeded all of my expectations in that you were kind, frank and keenly insightful. I also thought you might like to hear how accurate your reading of my love life was. I was surprised and thought you were completely off base when you asked me if my boyfriend was married or had any children. You read in the cards that someone from the past was going to affect our relationship and that it also had something to do with a child. As far as anyone knew (even himself), he didn't have any children.
But, as you predicted an old girlfriend showed up 5 days after your reading pregnant. Unalarmed by your reading at the time, you also warned me that his mother would be a problem. This was slightly apparent at the time of the reading but I had no idea why. Well, mom wants him to do the right thing and is constantly trying to keep us from even as much as speaking. She is a huge influence on him. When all of this unfolded, I was wrecked. Really sad. None the less, you not only predicted accurately, but you were extremely insightful about the emotional problems that would ensue and gave me excellent advice on how to hold it together, focus on my positive traits and ways to keep myself centered, grounded and sane. Thank you so very much! I can tell that you are truly a person who cares for others.” -J.K.
My First National Magazine Job: Teen Celebrity Psychic!
Submitted by Margaret Ruth on Thu, 2009-08-20 13:44
I found myself excited to see the final results of a job I did for Astro Girl magazine for the July Issue. I wrote up the teen celebrities' futures and then the editor rewrote my material to match the tone of the Teen readers.
It was an interesting and fun project; however, some of the people I was asked about did not have terribly great futures ahead and this made it a bit difficult to write. I even double checked what I got with some of my psychic friends to make sure I was accurate because I had never heard of any of these young people before. The editors did a good job of smoothing my more candid predictions for the final project.

Hi Jerri,
I think that the editor just wants extremely upbeat, happy news. I think it fits in a way because the audience is younger than 16.

MR, I find it a bit strange that the publisher felt compelled to tone down some of the predictions. If they wanted to use 'teen friendly' verbage, fine, but alter the message? I hope they ask you back for next years predictions.
A big fan of yours,
