Many people were taught that to shower the people you love with love, you shower them with worry, -- to show them you care. And I do think that many of us will admit to worrying about our loved ones at one time or another. Then there are those who habitually worry about others, and themselves, as a way of life.

This week, I met with a wonderful young man who wanted to talk about falling in love one day. It was a tough subject for him. He was brought up in very typical circumstances and had therefore developed a belief that relationships are difficult, imperfect, full of compromises and require a bit of work to maintain. His past experiences had verified these beliefs and he was very good at criticizing himself over what appeared to be mistakes.

Dear Ms. Ruth.
Sorry I am not one for formalities; but the heading just sounded right! LOL. I am actually wondering if/when I will be able to actually “see” the guys I’m interested in for who they are?
I dated a guy for three years when I found out that He was a porn addicted transvestite.
“Dear MR~I was in to see you last week. IT was so enlightening. You told me things that I could DO, not just identify a problem, and that is more than most therapists can do!” -J.V.
“Thank you for your reading! All I can say is .. amazing!”
